General Discussion / Re: Unbound log file
May 13, 2026, 09:09:23 AM
Thanks! I had the logging enabled from the start. I can't find the Ip using zenarmor. I can't find the Ip without using the unbound log file. I can find it using firewall live view, but only shows firewall it self. Working on it.

General Discussion / Unbound log file

I had some hardware failures, replaced switch's and the opnsense updates. I say this because I have been using the log's more than ever. Maybe this is normal. I don't know! I keep getting many entry's in opnsense unbound log 157.134.199.XXX:53 [99478:4] error: read (in tcp initial): Connection reset by peer for 157.134.199.XXX port 53. Six or more a minute. Trying to find were this is coming from: let out anything from firewall host itself (force gw) (WAN)

Thanks for the help

General Discussion / help with unbound reporting
April 22, 2026, 11:00:51 AM
Using unbound reporting I have, Top passed domains: MSN.Com 52%. What gives? I have nothing windows, Microsoft. Couple months back I used a win laptop because I had major hardware failure. Lost two network card's and a switch. Both network card's or in linux computers. I replaced two switch's both were the same age. Added unifi 24 poe. Everything is back up, but can't figure the msn thing.

Thanks

OPNsense
Versions
OPNsense 24.10_7-amd64
FreeBSD 14.1-RELEASE-p5
OpenSSL 3.0.15
DEC 850 hardware
Don't really know were to start. Reporting unbound dns will only work for about 12 hours. Then quits! When I change the setup, like disable it or do something with data base. It won't save, just spin's. Reboot it and it will save. If I get tired of the spinning and hit F5 it will show saved but does not. Just acting strange. Don't really know were to start.

I was trying to find my notes. I use sudo screen/dev/ttyUSB0 115200 When it just sits there with a blank screen cycle the power.
It's been while but I'll try to help. I also have a DEC850

OPNsense devices from the OPNsense shop use <ESC> to enter the bios and boot selection options.

I am by no means an X-pert! I discovered the same thing while looking at the log's. I had enabled opnsense admin page to wan. My setup had no business being setup that way. Control everything local lan.

detected 14 and blocked 11 potentially harmful activities according to your rules. How do I find the detected harmful activities? Figure out if I should block them.

Thanks
