Hm, in that case try a different videocard? You might miss the EFI boot screen, but at least you have OPNsense screen.
#17
Maybe is has something to do with the EFI. The 2008 Mac Pro doesn't use UEFI.
Have you tried VGA? You can set that in the configuration on the webconfig.

I had a 2008 Mac Pro but never installed FreeBSD/HardenedBSD on it.

It's never to late to join the Light Side of the Force ;-)

Are you running pfSense or OPNsense? Because if you are running the former, you're on the wrong forum ;-)
#20
I will wait for the update :-)
#21
Thought it might be something like that. The applying threw a ton of crap on the screen :-)

Got it installed. Colour scheme looks nice, although I do not like the font that is used.
I prefer the Rebellion theme font more. Easier to read, imo.
The font is nice when typing a letter in Word, not on a configuration page.

Also, it shows "logo" in the top left corner where it should show the actual OPNsense logo?

Looks very nice. Looking forward to find it as a plugin to try out.

Which CPU are you using? Mine is a GX-420CA SOC and no problems at all.

ISD/IPS is fine in a VM. Just make sure to follow the guide on disabling offloading.

General Discussion / Re: Does MAC address ID IPV4 and 6

How and why does a MAC address match to IPv4 or IPv6 address?

There are several topics on Hyper-V and Gen 2.
IIRC you can only be lucky with Gen 1.

It's been a while since I used OPNsense on Hyper-V, so I am rusty.

General Discussion / Re: Install PiHole on Opnsense

No, because it works on Linux. It's installation scripts supports a couple of Linux distros and has dependencies on them.
It would require a complete rewrite, and no doubt there are other things that would need change as well.

I think those 8 cores/16 threads will be overkill (though not sure HardenedBSD in OPNsense has HT disabled) will be overkill for your connection.

Right now I have a 500/40 cable connection using a AMD GX-420CA SOC, which is an older SOC even, and it does about 18% when downloading (no IPS/IDS) at 535 Mbps.
This SOC is simple compared to that Xeon D. So I really think you'll be fine.

I was trying to get IPsec Road Warrior to work last weekend, and stumbled on this issue as well.
What I mainly missed was the ability to set the privileges on the user's groups for xauth, as you can only choose from GUI items.

I will try your two configuration settings. Hopefully it will work then.
