21.1 Legacy Series / Re: OPNsense gaming performance?
« on: March 27, 2021, 05:23:00 pm »
I don't have multiple consoles/desktops gaming at the same time as well, but what I found really helped, apart from proper port forwarding (if needed, because Nintendo switch doesn't) is Static Port for the IP address of the console/desktop under Firewall: NAT: Outbound.

So something like this:
Interface    Source    Source Port    Destination    Destination Port    NAT Address    NAT Port    Static Port    Description
WAN    PlayStation4     *    *    *    Interface address    *    YES    Game Static port

PlayStation4 is the name of the alias I use for my PS4 Pro.

Talk about immortal ghosts from the past, replying in a topic to which the last comment was made 4 years ago ;-)

SSH is not enabled by default (anymore).

General Discussion / Re: VLANs and OPNsense
« on: April 30, 2020, 05:05:16 pm »
That really depends on how many physical NICs you have.
If you have enough you could do with one VLAN per NIC, but if not you can trunk VLANs on one port on the switch.

*cough* nevermind. It was still having the patch version.
Plugins didn't even show it as installed. So I did and the logo shows and the font is good :D

Finally switched to it. Somehow I still see "logo" in the top left.
Could that be because of the pre-final version I patched in earlier?

Also, not a fan of the used font type. It's like reading a document.
It's out of place.

Hm, in that case try a different videocard? You might miss the EFI boot screen, but at least you have OPNsense screen.

Maybe is has something to do with the EFI. The 2008 Mac Pro doesn't use UEFI.
Have you tried VGA? You can set that in the configuration on the webconfig.

I had a 2008 Mac Pro but never installed FreeBSD/HardenedBSD on it.

Are you running pfSense or OPNsense? Because if you are running the former, you're on the wrong forum ;-)

Thought it might be something like that. The applying threw a ton of crap on the screen :-)

Got it installed. Colour scheme looks nice, although I do not like the font that is used.
I prefer the Rebellion theme font more. Easier to read, imo.
The font is nice when typing a letter in Word, not on a configuration page.

Also, it shows "logo" in the top left corner where it should show the actual OPNsense logo?

Looks very nice. Looking forward to find it as a plugin to try out.
