Suricata and Network Interface Settings

Has anyone hit the problem with enabling Suricata when your network interface settings are enabled? It seems this combination, on my server, crushes DNS bc I lose all resolution to the Internet. If I go back and disable the network interface settings then DNS comes back.

Has anyone seen this combination?

On my simple setup I had to create a IPV4 gateway to tie DNS to a gateway in
System>settings>general, the drop down box beside your dns inputs only have IPV6 until you create
a gateway for IPV4. then it shows up there. I had no internet or IPS till I did that.
Dont know if yours is the same problem. Just thought I would mention it not knowing your setup.
