Spot the discrepency

Why the discrepancy in the kernel and base versions?


I'm not sure why people keep thinking this is a problem or mistake when e.g. we do not release a new version of OpenSSL for every release we do. Everything has a version number. If it doesn't change there is no need to update it and/or change the version number. :)
