Hi!

Using OVPN as our VPN provider, and are now setting it up at another location. The problem is that when changing to Manual outbound NAT rule generation (no automatic rules are being generated), all rules are wiped.

Also, the checkbox to clone them is gone from prev releases!

How do I solve this now?

Checked the firewall at home, and there I can find the checkboxes! But not on a freshly installed system over at work.  ???

There should always be a configuration history under System: Configuration: History to restore from... :)

If you know how to reproduce the problem please let me know.

Cheers,
Franco

I noticed this same problem today. Fresh install of 18.1, updated, then switched to manual outbound rule generation and *poof* all the rules are gone. In past versions it converted the automatic rules to manual rules that can be edited. Can we get this feature back?

Franco, how to reproduce the problem is in my post above. Is that normal behavior?

Since I can't seem to get a response, maybe pfSense would be a better fit. The forum seems to be much more active and helpful over there.

Franco is on holiday. He'll be at the beginning of September.

Can confirm this problem(s), happened to me on a fresh installation also.

I've looked at it and I have to "NAK" the "all rules are wiped" part. If we talk about "all" = "all automatic" then that's a yes, but it was a bugfix because users reported an endless duplication of automatic rules. Your user-defined rules will not be tampered with.

Automatic rules are not for editing. That's why we have hybrid *and* manual mode so all combinations are possible.
