question about opnsense ports

is there any help or guide lines about installing opensense ports on githubs on opensene?
for example this:

i wanna to use SMTP protection on opensense, how can i ?
i tried but :

Looks like you are neither on OPNsense 17.7 nor 17.1.11?

I don't think it's a very bright idea to pin the perl binary to a specific minor relase, but if FreeBSD wants to do this with the ports tree so be it...
