If you use DHCP and not a static IP, or use a static IP
To get the suricata rules to work
Go to Intrusion Detection>Administration>click advanced in the upper right>
In the Home Networks box enter your IP or IP range
Delete whats already in the box you dont want to confuse suricata
Examples: enter 192.168.1.1/24 if DHCP assigns your IP in this range
or if your IP is usually the same, can enter that 192.168.1.119
Or whatever it usually is
If your IP is already one of the two ranges just leave it
And delete the IP range which is not yours
Mine was not either of the two
So I had to delete the two defaults and enter mine and click save
Dont forget to click save
