Do I need this?

Hello,

I'm a happy owner of an Opnsense. Been configuring this awesome kind of software for 2 days and just found out that it offers ids / ips.

I would like to know the following regarding ips / ids: do I NEED to enable this? AFAIK all inbound traffic is already being blocked by Opnsense because we do not have any rules. So what's the point in enabling this?

There isn't a lot of use for this if all the incoming ports are blocked.
