Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie from pfsense and finally managed to get Opnsense up and running. However I am getting a few issues, if I enable IPS it blocks all external traffic for updates, plugins etc. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you fix it, please? I forgot to mention it also blocks signature updates as well.

Thanks

Rockyuk

Hi, I joined the forum because the same error happened to me. Have any updates?

There are no details of the setup in the first post nor in yours ;)
Relevant parts are the DNS settings used in your OPN setup including unbound, dnsmasq and system > general  > settings as starting points.

Did you give it some time after IDS enable and hitting apply
Can you ping out and get reply 8.8.8.8
What did the message actually say
Did it say Host unavailable
Did you give it some time and reboot
Then after reboot, unplug ethernet cable, wait 15 seconds and plug back in, resets NIC
If wireless disconnect and reconnect, may need to reboot PC
yes I got the same thing but cant remember what I did to fix
It kept saying Host unavailable in about the middle of that message
It was something easy
