New Dashboard short-comings
« on: August 02, 2024, 02:13:42 am »
The new dashboard is missing the widget for network time - any chance of getting this back?

Also, the widget for "Interfaces" cannot be dragged down to fit more interfaces in; other widgets can be dragged bigger.

Otherwise, good work guys.  :)

unfortunately, the new dashboard is extremely disappointing, I don't think there is anything in the new version that will compel me to upgrade.  Worst case scenario, I'll move to pfsense if it becomes a security issue.

Not only the network-time widget, i am missing the UPS-widget too. Hopefully the widgets from the previous version will come back soon...
By the way, a Dyndns-widget would be nice!

At all, the new version made me happy, some annoying glitches are finally gone, which i had with the 24.3.
Such a big changes with the dashboard show me there is a highly active work in progress!
Regarding pfsense, i changed because with the change of their business-model things got mad, long time there were big problems with updates and other things, not to forget the "fiasco" with wireguard, which made the whole thing really unsecure.
I am happy with a firewall which is "made in europe", i feel more comfortable here with OPNsense. I see that american ways of doing software is so different to european way. We need more software like this!

What a fast answer! Now my hopefully not too silly question: How do i get that? I tried via "opnsense-revert -z os-ddclient" (found in another thread, only for different package), but its still the "old" one.
Or do i have to wait for the next release?
Thanks a lot!!!!

not to bother anyone with minor details and typos. But

Code: [Select]
# opnsense-patch -c plugins dd68ab68d

runs a bit better  ;)

**** Interface statistics was better in the old version with all details rather than the current PIE chart.****

Can we have it configurable ? with choose PIE chart or details like in old version ????

I prefer the legacy dashboard widgets. I run a HA setup, so I upgraded my secondary OPNsense box just to give the new version a try but later reverted the same back to v24.1.10_8 after kicking the tires a bit. I'm just not feeling the new dashboard widgets. I'll give v24.7 a bit more time to mature before making the switch.

I can't even get all the widgets to line up to each other. The firewall widget blinks every time it updates which seems out of place.  The CPU widget is, well, busy.  I hope in the future that can be configurable to just show total cpu, or we can get line graphs back like the previous dashboard layout.  Don't mean to pile on, I appreciate the hard work going into this project.

I also find it not useful. The older version of the Interface statistics was better. Hopefully we can get option to customize in future.

In 24.7 I cannot add any additional widgets. It will allow you to see them .. though the list is pretty slim. You cannot actually select one to add it. I am running Windows 11 and the Brave / Chrome browsers are the same.

For example ... I cannot add Live View widget from the list at all.

Thanks
