Hey All -

Trying to wrap my head around this and seems to be conflicting info on 1:1 NAT vs Virtual IP in searching the forums so thought I'd ask more directly.  I'm getting a /29 from my ISP (no PPPoE or DHCP or anything like that).

I assume I take one of those IPs in that block and it becomes my WAN address, and I use the ISP provided gateway as my gateway address on the WAN interface in OpnSense.

Beyond that, I'm unsure how to allocate another one of my static IPs to a device on the LAN as well as how to assign a private LAN 192.X IP to other devices I don't want to burn one of my statics.

Thanks for the input and best practice info.

Things you need:

- Virtual IPs on WAN

What might help (Depends on your usecase):
- 1:1 NAT (One host gets 1 public IP via NAT)
- IP Selection for Outbound NAT (Several hosts go public with different hosts)

Alternatively:
- A proper WAN _network_ with 6 hosts (5 hosts from you + 1 gw from ISP)
