Configuring LDAP for Windows 2019 Environment

Hi guys,

I currently have VPN user accounts authenticating using local passwords but am considering using LDAP instead on a Windows 2019 server environment.

What are the pros'/ cons of using LDAP?
It looked a fairly detailed process to setup or am I looking at old instructions?
Does it require a user license on the Windows Server?

We may need to start to monitor user file access and LDAP should make this process easier.
