NTP Pool configuration and display options

Looking through the source, it appears that only entries ending in ".pool.ntp.org" will be considered pool servers. This means that if you want to use just "pool.ntp.org" it won't be correctly processed as a pool. The same with "time.nist.gov" or any other pool that's not a subset of the NTP Pool Project.
I understand why the default entries are what they are and that OPNSesnse shouldn't ship with the base "pool.ntp.org", but as a user, I should be able to add additional pools. Can we get a pool/server checkbox added to the UI and config instead of just parsing for a domain?
Additionally, pools get marked with the Ref ID of .POOL. but always show as Unreach/Pending, which can be confusing to some users. Is there a way to provide a more informative connection status? This would help a user determine if a given pool address is correctly providing servers or not.
Also, the kiss code link in the documentation goes to a 404. I found this link but it doesn't include some of the Ref IDs that I've seen such as .GPS. or .NIST. so I'm not sure if it's what the docs should be updated to.
