IPv4 vs IPv6 network quality

Has anyone noticed a big difference between the quality of their IPv4 connection and the IPv6 one?

I enabled dpinger for both my IPv4 and IPv6 gateways.  The IPv4 is consistently good but the IPv6 is having nothing but problems.  Consistent packet loss, high latency, and huge swings in latency.

I would have expected both stacks to be similar in performance, but I wanted to see what others experience was before I start the uphill battle in complaining to my ISP.

I'd say if connectivity itself is fine it's probably on the ISP side (not knowing what address you monitor). Normally you'd want to monitor a service on the internet which could provide bad results of a lot of reasons, but you could also try and monitor inside your ISP network to find the bad hop. That would help your ISP to narrow it down.

I'm monitoring the gateway on both.  Previously I wasn't using IPv6.  It's over the same physical connection, which is why I'm quite surprised to find such horrible connectivity for IPv6 compared to IPv4.

Just saw this post again. Any change in IPv6 for you?

Nope.  Still seeing ongoing packet loss and huge latency swings.  Since I'm only using it for DNS resolution and my ISP support has no idea what they're doing, I haven't put much effort into figuring out the problem.

Ok, understandable. Thanks for the update!
