it almost sounds like the box is sleeping and for whatever reason, hitting port 80 wakes it up?

For anyone who may stumble upon this thread:
It seems the issue was due to a setting tucked away in the BIOS. For anyone experiencing weird outages on an HP Z400:
Go into your BIOS using F9 on initial power-on
Go to the Power tab
Select OS Power Management then press Enter
Select Idle Power Savings and change it from Extended to Standard
Assuming it wasn't an act of God this was the only change I made to my setup since I stopped having sudden dropouts.
