GeoIP Setup - help needed

Hi,

I'm following the instructions to set this up using the latest version of OpnSense but when go to maxmind to create the licence key, how do i know which version to configure for.

I've looked on OpnSense and can't see any details regarding the version number

Geolite2 free unless you're buying a subscription, in which case is the one you're paying for.

so once got all in place

do i just need to create firewall rules to block to certain locations?

yes, you have to enter the string in GEOip in aliases
https://download.maxmind.com/app/geoip_download?edition_id=GeoLite2-Country-CSV&license_key=YOURKEY&suffix=zip

and then Select the Countrys
and then use it in the Firewall as Rule
