Hi ladies and germs!
I've come here as pfsense user: "used for a very long time, and is very used to configure it".
I really like what I see, opnsense is a great piece of engineering! Kudos!
I've been toying around and must have messed up somewhere. Unbound answer with two A records one for its LAN-address and it's WAN-address (DHCP from the ISP).

Unbound answers with all interface addresses when you ask for the firewall hostname, type A. Why it's designed that way I don't know. I use BIND instead of unbound. I hate dynamic updates messing with my zone data.

Hi and thanks for the reply.
The odd ball here is that another installation I got with static WAN assignment, that opnsense only returns the LAN hostname.
OK, I'll dig around some more to see if I can find a definitive answer to this this one or if another route as yours is needed.
