Switching away from PFsense - About features. (Blocklists, etc)
« on: August 15, 2019, 03:52:56 pm »
Hello,

Because of reliability and other well known issues, I'm in the process of migrating quite a lot of routers to OPNsense.

Yet I have 2 questions remaining :

- Managing DNS and IP blocklists is mandatory to me. I need full privacy and security protection hence I use 50+ blocklists, then I need to manage them easily. When I was thinking about using OPNsense, that wasn't easily available. Is this feature implemented as of today ?
I've seen "UnboundBL" mentioned here and there but not a lot about it...

- Are the ties that may exist between OPNsense and Google be cut ? As I do not want to have anything to do with them.

Thank you a lot :)

dnscrypt-proxy plugin can handle DNSBL with a predefined list.
UnboundBL is currently unmaintained. In fall this year I'll add a similar addition to unbound but with the same logic as with bind or dnscrypt-proxy.
