Just a Discussion (openBSD and HBSD)

I've used the openBSD for years and found that openBSD is very very secure and stable.
thus, is it a good suggestion for the OPNsense migrate from HBSD to openBSD?

Are you sure there are some features in OpenBSD which makes the effort of moving everything worth compared to HBSD?

I haven't checked the features
but my experience is that:
the OpenBSD use less RAM and disk space to complete my tasks when compare to FreeBSD.
Also, the OpenBSD proves itself very secure and update twice a year (same as opnsense).
that's why I think it'd be a "good move" to migrate to OpenBSD

The main reason OPNsense is using HardenedBSD is because FreeBSD allows closed source binary blobs for wireless driver's etc. OpenBSD will not distribute binary blobs that are not open source or allow any code in their source tree which is closed source which poses significant limitations.
Personally I would rather use OpenBSD which I've used for many years in the past but because of some limitations I need to use the next best thing which is OPNsense on top of HardenedBSD.
If you need a great GUI to go with HardenedBSD then OPNsense would be a great transition. If you prefer using command line only stick with OpenBSD or HardenedBSD. OPNsense provide an easy means to configure HardenedBSD and other software packages/plugins.
