15.7 Legacy Series / VLANs and bridging
« on: November 08, 2015, 09:55:10 am »
I have a VLAN set up on igb1 and bridged with the LAN (igb0) interface. I've set up a firewall rule to pass all traffic, yet DHCP requests from the VLAN is filtered in the firewall. Trying to use the "Easy rule" button adds a rule that looks reasonable, but DHCP is still filtered.

What am I doing wrong?

edit: In linux I would've set up the bridge as the new LAN interface, but I cannot see a way to do this in opnsense.

Ok, how would I set up the external interfaces so that I get four IPs then?

General Discussion / NAT and bridge?
« on: October 12, 2015, 01:01:33 pm »
I have an ISP that for some strange reason allows me 4 IPs via DHCP. I'd like to use one IP for a NAT fw for my LAN, and at the same time act as a transparent fw for my "exposed" servers, thus giving them non-private IPs. (Yet still behind a firewall)

Is this at all possible? Are there better alternatives for such a setup?
