17.7 Legacy Series / Great Work!
September 01, 2017, 11:55:00 PM
Team, I just upgraded and I want to say "Great Work!"  I was using VyprVPN as an OpenVPN client and my throughput was terrible.  After the upgrade I'm getting the same throughput as if there were no VPN running.  Also, my memory and process usage is way down and the upgrade was seamless.  Keep up the awesome work.

Also, if you can get a decent RPZ feed  that you can resell to customers or get the SURBL feeds for distribution, I think there is a good opportunity for some cashflow.

Here is why RPZ is so useful, simply block your devices from going to known bad sites - easy, peasy.

17.7 Legacy Series / Named or BIND???
September 01, 2017, 10:51:26 PM
I just upgraded to 17.7 and discovered that BIND/named is not available.  Can you please add this package to the library.  I use RPZ threat feeds in BIND which unbound does not support.  Please bring back BIND/named.

Is it possible to get a super simple and basic OpenVPN wizard that just sets up an OpenVPN server and provides a client download bundle like the OpenVPN VM?  I love OpnSense, but I can't get a VPN up and running to save my life.

My bad, when you are in Legacy boot mode, this fails.  You need to be in UEFI Win 8.x or UEFI Win 7.x.

Solved it.  Went into BIOS and shutdown Legacy USB support, USB Mass Storage Driver Support, Port 60/64 Emulation, turned off SATA port 0.  I rebooted and it came up just great.  I turned everything back on in the BIOS and it still continues to come up just great.

I get the following 16 times before it eventually times out and continues to boot.  The Zotac Zbox is a great little machine and I hope the team at OPNSense can get it fully functional with its Intel Wifi card which is recognized "wlan: mac acl policy registered".  Any ideas on this sdhci controller timeout?
