General Discussion / Install OPNsense on Netgear ProSafe
September 29, 2015, 07:32:13 PM
Hey Everyone,

Going to received a Netgear ProSafe 6 (FVS336G-300NAS) and was wonder if you can install/flash OpnSense onto this device. I have only install and configured OPNsense on a rack mount server but never on  Embedded Firewall before. Dose anyone have any suggestion, or had any success getting OPNsense onto this device.

Best Regards,

Hello

So for your IPV4 Tunnel Network it just have to IP that would be giving to the VPN users. (ex 192.168.15.0/24)
From there you can go to the advance option and push route's to the networks that you want the vpn user to have access too.

Ex
p.ush "route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0"
push "route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0"

Not sure about setting for DNS server and Netbios as I didn't need it for my set-ups.

Hello,

For your firewall rules what happens whe you change your destination to any or Wan net. Are you able to reach the Internet then.

Hey ahmy,

Might need some more information in order to solve this issue.
1. When you connect to the device are you getting an IP address.
2. If so are you able to ping the gate way from your wireless device .(ex. ping 10.0.0.1)
3. Next confirm that opt1 interface can reach the the internet.  Go under Diagnostics and select ping, From ther put the following.
Host : 8.8.8.8
IP Protocol : IPv4
Source Address opt1
Count: 3
Please paste the results on your next update.

Hello

After performing 15.1.9-amd64 update I starting seeing 201 error when I log in. This seems to happen any user expect the root user. The user the is set up under the admin group and never had a issue until after the llatest update.
Attempted to create a new account with the same admin credential and also performed a reboot(you never know).
But still received the same 201 error "No page assigned to this user! Click here to logout.". Any suggestion will be very appreciated.

Best Regards

March 30, 2015, 03:21:37 AM
Update,

Just upgraded to 1.57.2 and everything works like a charm. After the upgrade I attempt to add a new alias. It now show up as soon as it is created. Will keep testing and report any bugs, but other than that loving the work that is being done with OPNsense.
