I've now disabled all IP6 (or so I think) and it's still not working.  nslookup pulls up the ip address just fine but curl reports bad hostname

So I"m trying to get my dns over Wireguard working.  Using some dns client tools on my iPhone I get proper ip addresses on some lookups but using those addresses gives error.  For example. I have a computer running BlueIris.  Using dns lookup I get the proper ip address for the hostname 'blueiris.local' however browsing to blueiris.local:81 in safari doesn't work and doing a port scan gives an invalid hostname error.

What am I not understanding?

Nothing in the logs.  I'm running 1420 as MTU on server and client.  I'm using a domain name as my endpoint as it's using dyndns.  I realize that sometimes the IP address can change but I see extended periods of time where it is down and I know the IP address has not changed.

Virtual private networks / Help with unstable wireguard

I have WG setup and is sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.  I have the client on my iPhone set to on-demand.  It will go a couple of hours and will not work.  Blue Iris videos not coming through, accessing lan computers no go, etc.  Then, suddenly, will start working and will work for some time.

Any idea how I can go about deciphering what is going on?

Just a followup -- apparently I have no problem accessing the dmz machine by direct ip address but cannot access it using the wan dns name with port forward.

Pretty simple setup.  pi4 hanging off 3rd nic as dmz (no switch).  WAN rule port forwarding 80/443 to dmz box (192.168.2.10).  Accessing dmz box from inside my network worked perfectly when I set it up just a few weeks ago.  Now all I get is blocked by default deny / state violation.

Any idea what is up?
