I have tried swapping the ports em0 with em1 after doing a factory reset, and that also is not working when connected directly to WAN bridge mode device

I have a Opn-sense firewall which is not connecting to internet when connected directly to bridge mode cable modem.

Scenario 1 (not working)
Cable Modem (bridge mode) --> Opn-sense 2.5.2 CE WAN with Static ip + DNS provided by ISP.
I get gigabit connection between Opn-sense and Modem, but no internet.

Scenario 2 (works)
If I put a linksys router in between
Cable Modem (bridge mode) --> Linksys (Static ip+DNS  provided by ISP) ---->  pPnsense 2.5.2 CE WAN DHCP .
In scenario 2 I get a 10/100 connection with the modem (light shows 10/100), work's

What setup configuration item I am missing on the Pf-Sense to connect it directly with the bridge mode modem

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip PFTOP..

However the PF top is showing only ipaddress, not the domain name of the ip address being accessed
for names I am refering to domain names that are being accessed.

General Discussion / How to block a port
June 01, 2021, 04:28:33 PM
Still learning and new

I did a grc shields up scan and two ports which are not stealth, 135 and 445.

I tried to create a rule in firewall to block the port on the WAN, however the port option is greyed out and will not let me enter the port.

What am i doing incorrectly.

Please guide.
thanks

Hello all
I am new to opnsense, just moved from a linksys. After reading the forums and docs I have installed Opnsense with Geoip filteration and IPS enabled.

I have newbie questions.

1- in the logfile I get IP addresses, even though I check the lookup source name flag. few are resolved but not all. how do I get the names resolved for all the IP addresses.

2. I want to find which internal computers are talking to where , source and destination , how do I get this info

Thanks
