I am using a working Cisco console cable with a Prolific USB serial adapter.  It connects to switches fine.  I have tried setting the laptop and serial console in opnSense, to both 115200 and 9600 (same on both ends), but in both situations I get garbled output on the laptop.  The Settings on the laptop are 8n1 with the terminal emulation set to xterm.

ps on the FW shows that getty is running using the 3wire.9600 profile on ttyu0

does anybody have any idea why the output is garbled?   I don't know what else I can change.

Is OpnSense capable of configuring a dual Hub and Spoke IPSec VPN to an enterprise network?  I have two Firewalls one at each DCs terminating remote lans and User VPNs.  Both VPN end points are for the same 10.0.0.0/16 network.  They are intended to be Primary and Secondary links, should we loose a DC.  Does OpnSense run into any trouble with the fact that the traffic of interest is the same for both VPNs?  I am happy for them to be active/standby, so long as the failover is reliable, although I would rather they both be active.

Could you please elaborate in the thread how you resolved the issue, so others can benefit.  I am experiencing a similar issue, which is driving me nuts.  The connection is allowed, but drops out every few seconds.  I have log messages showing denies, despite having rules to specifically allow between the hosts listed.
