[img]I have public IPv6 space I was routing to my house via a routed IPsec tunnel. Had everything working great, sometime it stopped working. I went ahead to set up in the new connection and was able to get the phase 1 connection working. Went to set ip routes and gateways and I can create the IPv6 gateway. I select an IPv6 interface type and am using and IPv6 address, but just get an error that an IPv6 address is not detected.

I reported the error with the crash reporter.  Are you on 22.1.2_1 ?

Also I have loads. of memory 12+GB Free right now

Seeing the same error.

line 95 of that file is

exec('opnsense-log dhcpd 2> /dev/null', $log, $ret);

looking into my dhcp settings.  I habe multiple dhcpv4 and dcpv6 subnets and server instances running.

Old CPU, do you have spectre and meltdown enabled? They are by default. What about your power settings? Forcing power saving I the bios or with powerd could be impacting you as well.
#5
The NIC offload settings are located under interfaces>advanced in opnsense. By default all offloading is disabled.

General Discussion / Re: Unbound-control and SNMP extend
February 11, 2022, 08:26:32 PM
Same problem.  My search brought me here.

unbound-control isnt a service to run, but is enabled with unbound configuration in opnsense.

I learned you have to specify the unbound configuration.

unbound-control -c /var/unbound/unbound.conf stats

Returns results.  Just need to figure out how to get the extend configuration to persist through a reboot in the snmp configuration.

Have you tried updating the nic firmware?

21.7 Legacy Series / Re: NTP Issue
January 27, 2022, 10:16:38 PM
After multiple service restarts, and reboots, started working when I stopped looking at it.  I know it can take time to sync to timeservers, maybe I just wan't patient enough for the 4 hours it seemed to take.

21.7 Legacy Series / NTP Issue
January 27, 2022, 04:44:31 PM
On 21.7.8, I am unable to pull ntp peer stats via the gui, or on the CLI

root@oob-router:~ # ntpq -p
No association ID's returned

Logs just show an expected unsyncronized clock message, and listing all interfaces the daemon is listening on.

Any troubleshooting ideas?

22.1 Legacy Series / Any performance chnages in 22.1?

Has anyone noticed any performance changes? Good or bad?  Plan on installing on a lab router later today and was just curious.

Thanks.

I brought it back to mainstream, saw the CPU weirdness, and ran the ifconfig directly on the terminal.

I have 18 interfaces total, took 6-7 seconds for them all to populate.

Your inference is correct, turning off the offloading features made no difference.

I think you have it narrowed to something fixed in the patch/commit that your shared is causing the issue.

You are correct using the ix driver.  This motherboard has 6 10GbE interfaces using the ix driver, and I have two more on the intel card.

I am using hardware for CSC, TSO, LRO, and VLAN filtering across the ix interfaces.
