23.1 Legacy Series / WAN bandwidth slow
March 12, 2023, 02:01:40 PM
Hi,

When I connected directly to the router I get 800-900 Mbps, when I connect it through the OPN I get just 100-200Mbps.

The cables are CAT5E\6 the NIC is 1GB.

What else I should check? OPN config or anything else

Hardware and Performance / WAN bandwidth slow
October 06, 2022, 12:30:47 PM
Hi,

When I connected direct to edge device I get the bandwidth as expected but when I get it through the FW it almost 1/3 as I should receive.

Someone also had this issue?
what are the recommended steps you're suggest to do for troubleshoot it?

Hi,

After update to 22.7.1 from 22.7_4 I did reboot, on boot I received this error-

tar: Damaged tar archive
tar: Retrying
...
...
...

on control-c I got root shell.

Anyone know what the cause?

So when on 22.1 install this kernel and reboot:

# opnsense-update -zkr 22.1-hyperv
# yes | opnsense-shell reboot

(might take a bit to sync the kernel to all mirrors... the default mirror should have it)

Cheers,
Franco

Thanks Franco you're the best!!
I had an issue with the upload. the kernel update fix it!
What a great and fast support, that's the reason I love this community and your product.

Anyone on the DNS issues?
#13
Tnx Mks. i will try that.

but what about the DNS issues that started after over a year without problems.

I'm already running with Cloudflare DNS + DoT over a year without any issues.
That is my config:
server:
forward-zone:
name: "."
forward-ssl-upstream: yes
forward-addr: 1.1.1.1@853 #Cloudflare ip4
forward-addr: 1.0.0.1@853 #Cloudflare ip4

I didn't try to switching to Google.
