aaaand I've given up, this is surprisingly difficult to get this to talk to the system, but it's not fun.

"ugen0.3: <American Power Conversion Back-UPS BX1200MI FW:294201G -302201G> at usbus0"

It seems according to several google results, I need to possibly hand edit files due to some problems with it.

If anyone knows how to get an APC ups working (USB driver or APC driver, I really don't care)  - let me know, because this seems way more difficult than it should be.
#2
Same issue here for me.

"ugen0.3" but also possibly "connected at usbus0" and I don't know how to actually get this device to talk to the system, I haven't found any posts from anyone who has got it working yet.

Problem is, it's 2024 and this fault is still in play and until you understand HOW to configure it then you're probably going to configure it wrong first few times....
#4

Ok I hope this helps others, who find this.

So since the machine partially booted, I was able to totally recover fine with the config.xml file being imported after re-installing the system.

Copying it off as a low to medium skilled person, was quite difficult via USB.  I ended up configuring my LAN interface ip using ifconfig en0 inet etc etc to get the LAN back up and then use SCP to send the files from /conf/ to my server.

Once you re-install and restore the config, you will notice the plugins section is even kind enough to list all the plugins you had which are missing.

I've fixed those, placed the config file back on a second time for the heck of it, rebooted and it's fantastic.
#5
Sorry to hassle here, but my system has failed an update, likely due to a dying drive.
However, it does boot enough for me to see the filesystem and I do see a config.xml file.

Google however isn't actually confirming for me that it's of any use to me?   Is it as simple as recovering this file?

Yes I understand I should have backups and I do but they're a little old and if this method is viable I'm happy to try it.
Thanks anyone who has time to respond, I do appreciate it.

Surely this thread will awaken again, with the release of the Pi5?

I don't see an Endpoint configuration for Phone on OPNsense in those screenshots. Or the WG configuration on the phone itself

Sorry, thank you!

Windows client (for testing, phone eventually obviously)

Without showing your actual setup (screenshots) nobody will be able to help you. Most likely: keys messed up? ;-) Do you ever see a handshake in the GUI?

Ok I think I've got all the screenshots I can and anonymised them best I can.

I /think/ there's a handshake, in the first tutorial (the block quote seems to imply it's connected and performing a keep alive)  but I actually don't know, where in the GUI to even check for a handshake.   I'll try again and see.

(That's an awful lot of screenshots but I'll try)

Did you allow access to your DNS through for the IP address range?

I mean once it connected (it seemed to actually connect for the first guide)  I was simply trying to ping my NAS or opnsense machine - to no avail, via IP - not hostname, so I imagine DNS isn't the issue.

I am absoloutely stumped and lost, I would love some help if anyone could be so kind.

I've followed this guide, twice, still no success.

I know for a fact, I messed this up the first time, because I neglected to copy, my public key from my Windows client into Step 3 (endpoint)
However I did fix that the second time,.

I've also followed this guide which seems significantly less complicated (to the point I suspect it's lacking some items?) which also, obviously didn't work.  A whole heap of items from the above guide are lacking for this one.

Error for this guide was:

I understand I'm not really too skilled here but I mean I've had opnsense up and running for nearly a year, I've followed guides for forwarding ports, I've been working with computers 30 years, but this eludes me no end.

If I should be asking somewhere else, please let me know if there's a 'newbie' forum.

Ok I have used the menu under settings to reset RRD data
Reset netflow data
and Repair netflow data

I hit all 3 twice, rebooted, I've got reporting back.

I suspect my corruption was due to power issues in my location where we lost power (a lot) over the course of several weeks.
Though I thought ZFS was more resilient, based on posts here.

So I hope this helps others who google with a similar issue.

Hello

Could anyone here please tell me how to destroy my insight database from scratch, therefore just fixing the problem outright?

It's clearly corrupted from the line

lowd aggregate died with message Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/opnsense/scripts/netflow/flowd_aggregate.py", line 160, in run aggregate_flowd(self.config, do_vacuum) File "/usr/local/opnsense/scripts/netflow/flowd_aggregate.py", line 80, in aggregate_flowd stream_agg_object.add(copy.copy(flow_record)) File "/usr/local/opnsense/scripts/netflow/lib/aggregates/interface.py", line 72, in add super(FlowInterfaceTotals, self).add(flow) File "/usr/local/opnsense/scripts/netflow/lib/aggregates/init.py", line 187, in add self._update_cur.execute(self._insert_stmt, flow) sqlite3.DatabaseError: database disk image is malformed

Sorry to bump the thread but I just need the logging / capturing of usage to work.

If anyone else has this issue I hope this helps with the googling indexer in some capacity.
https://github.com/opnsense/core/issues/5739
Hopefully I'll have a solution in the near future.

Thank you for the hard work.

EDIT:

See bottom post, just want to kill the database please.
