19.7 Legacy Series / Dynamic state reset
November 10, 2019, 02:54:44 PM
Hello guys,
I'm facing an issue that I can't seem to solve correctly and I'd love to get a tip of best practices:

I've 2 wans, one of them is a PPPoe and has it's target gateway changing from time to times. As I've a SIP PBX in the background, I've set the "Dynamic state reset" flat on the advance param. Unfortunatelly, this flag does not seem to be compatiple with the OpenVPN client that I use, as once the VPN client receives via DHCP an new ip, the states are reset and the connection is dropped.

Can I somehow enable the "Dynamic state reset" flag only for one interface? Or is there anoter way to achieve this ?
Thanks a lot in advance and best regards,
Nick

Hi all,
Same issue here... after once "validation failed", even on success, it stays on "validation failed"...

does your upstream- interface is a pppoe-interface ?

Hi Frank,

Nope, the IPTV is not on a pppoe upstream, but my second WAN is, maybe it is causing the issue... I haven't tested yet the downgrade of igmpproxy, will do it over the weekend... Also these days (since 18.1.4) I have loads of weird phenonemals with opnsense which almost always means I've to reboot... That's something else, but if I for instance re-tag my if with VLAN, then opnsense "somehow" looses the gateway untill restart (even though tagging is done on the switch/hypervisor side)

Cheers,
Nick

Hi frank,

That would relates to another thread I had responded... Since 18.1.4, igmpproxy is not working anymore while on VLAN... VLAN is by me set on the interface of the VM and not in OPNSense. That was working on 18.1.3.

I've here temporarily disabled the VLAN and it seems to be working again

Cheers,
Nick

Hello guys,
I kind of bumping this thread... I've a IPTV service that I run on a VLAN (because I've 2 WANS)... That was working perfectly with 18.1.3, but I upgraded yesterday to 18.1.4 and since it's not working anymore... Anyone else noticed that? I've temporarily removed the VLAN and I got it working again...
Has anything important changed on igmprpoxy?
Thanks,Nick

Hello,
I'm new to opnsense and I'd like an advice if possible.
I've by my ISP a block of 8 public IPs (among which 5 are usable).
Currently, they'are assigned directly on the router with Port Forwarding to different servers.
I would like to have opnsense in between and manage everything from there.
According to the manual of the router, I can put in in PPPoE mode and thus use it as a bridge. I've tried to set that up in opnsense and it works of (I see PPPoE being "online")
What I can't seem to figure out is how to configure my IPs in opnsense so I can do Port Forward to my servers.
Do I need virtual IPs ? I've a /29 block (Let's say i.e. 172.16.75.96/29 (97 being the router, 98-102 usable and 103 the broadcast)
Can someone please help me out ?
Thanks a million in advance,
Nick
