PXE instalation
« on: October 19, 2016, 01:41:53 pm »
Hi there, i wonder if there is any kind of network instalation available for opnsense?

I can install an embedded version by PXEing a linux environment and using dd to write the appropriate image to the disk, but i wonder if there is a more elegant solution to the problem as i would like to have the advantages of a permanent instalation with disk write capability.

Best regards

I'm also interested in this :-)

Is there anybody installing OPNSense over PXE?
I'd like to use my Synology NAS as a TFTP Server as the NAS also provides PXE support.

Thanks

I am also looking at the possibility of booting an OPNSense image using PXE. Specifically without using NFS. Does anybody have any experience in this for OPNSense

Thanks

The best approach would probably be to boot a FreeBSD over PXE and then install OPNsense from there.
