Testing transparent proxy cache
« on: November 14, 2015, 01:35:58 am »
Hi, We run with the lastest opnsense version 15.7.19.
Transparent proxy cache is configurated but We dont know if It Caching properly. For example, when We do a speed test, the maximun ingress bandwith It is the same. Should be cached?
Other test, We watched videos but They did not cache and They were downloaded from internet again.
We have watched samples in y o ut bbe where It appears speed test cached. Its posible? What are we doing bad?
Someone get it?
Thank so much

Effectively transparent proxy don't cache everything. You can check what is cached in Services --> Proxy Server --> Forward Proxy --> Access Control List.

At the bottom you have the destination ports who is cached.

You can check proxy activity in Status --> System Logs --> Proxy --> Access, you should have

I think speed test is not cached, streaming in big case majority will not be cached too.

Proxy is more useful with HTTP.
