HAproxy with floating IP
« on: June 27, 2018, 07:24:53 pm »
Hi All

First off a big thanks to the Opnsense team for a fantastic product. It was by sheer luck that I stumbled upon to this hidden gem. So great work and I'm sure this will pick up steam.

I was wondering if anyone has been able to setup a floating IP with the HAproxy plugin.

I'm able to successfully get peering between 2 HAproxy nodes but I'm not clear on how can I configure this floating IP that can be used as per attached image.

Would appreciate the help on this.

Thanks in advance.

The problem I am seeing is that I cannot ping the CARP VIP. And it shows CARP as MASTER for both instances.

I'm running 2 vm's on ESXI

I have an interface for

WAN
LAN
MGT
HA

The HA is set as promiscuous accept.

The sync seems to work as if I create a CARP VIP, it gets replicated on the other instance.

Any advise what to do to have ping enabled. I have opened the firewall rules as well.

Thanks in advance.
