Python 2.7 eating CPU
« on: May 04, 2018, 01:50:41 pm »
Hi,

Since about 18.1.5, i see that the python-processes use lots of cpu. This has not been the case before. Does anybody know, how i can find which "module" is keeping python busy?

Anybody else with that?

I see occasional CPU spikes around 27% on one core probably once every 10 seconds or so. However, in my case it is not constant usage, only occasional spikes, I would assume some kind of data dumping or log aggregation. I also use Netflow.

Can you share some details about your hardware? Are you seeing a constant 29% CPU usage from Python or is it only occasionally spiking that high?

For reference, my setup is:
i3-4130 CPU (powerD hi-adaptive)
8GB ECC DDR3
100GB 5400RPM HDD (this should not matter)
Intel i340-4
