we have issue with guest portal sessions:

when we restart service or reboot opnsense server all the registered sessions are lost. In reaction all guests had to put username/password vouchers again.

Is there a way to keep sessions saved all the time until session expired as per voucher validity time.

Hi there,

It should be like that. Which version are you using?

I am using 17.7.11 (amd64/OpenSSL) updated but still on reboot all sessions are wiped out and all guests need to put vouchers again

Are you using the /var MFS option under System: Settings: Misc?

I have to ask... anybody else seeing this problem?

We did use /var first few experiments but now we are not using /var anymore.

now being more clear -> have tested couple of devices along with long timings and found out sessions are wiped out after at least 12 hours even we don't restart service/server.

is there any check/setting to extend session expiry upto 30 days as per voucher validity is 30 days or more so even guest comes back after days system shouldn't ask him to enter voucher again

found out that it was because of DHCP Lease time expired after 12 hours instead. so we changed to 30days now and problem solved!!!

Sounds great, thanks for the follow-up. :)
