Configuration Cloud Backup
« on: November 15, 2017, 12:33:32 am »
The OPNsense doc https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/cloud_backup.html is way out of date and not applicable anymore.
Are there any more recent guides anywhere, or can someone post in this thread the steps.

You could use PFMonitor, it backs up your configs to the cloud automatically every 6 hours, 1 of its many features.

Not interested in a paid subscription when OPNsense is more than capable with the Google Drive backup, just need a guide on how to do it.

If you let me know what particular part of the docs is out of sync I can friendly prod Jos to take a look and update it accordingly. :)

Sure, The steps given for getting the P12 key from Google Drive do not match the choices starting with the first step which is 'In the left menu APIs -> “Drive API” -> Enable'. There is no left menu. From there none of the steps exist anymore. There are many new choices in the  Drive API area.

Just a friendly bump as the Drive API setup documentation is still out of date. Thanks!

bump. I created a service account, but I don't see anything in the documentation on whether or not to assign it an appropriate IAM role. I'm assuming "Storage Object Creator" is required here.

Also, to enable Drive API, you must now click on "Google APIs" in the top left of the page to the left of your project name. Then you must click "ENABLE APIS AND SERVICES" with the blue box / white plus sign icon. Then scroll down on the page and click "Google Drive API and then click Enable.
