Unable to remove neighbor entry

Some time ago i made a few static arp entries in the 'Interfaces > Neighbors'. Currently one of the entries has become obsolete and i wanted to remove it, but i am unable to do so.

I select the entry, click the delete button and apply. But the entry remains.

I've flushed my arp table and i don't see any leases referring to this device. Nor do i have any reservations in my DHCP services (not in KEA, ISC nor dnsmasq). I also checked my firewall rules but there is no reference to the device there either.
Previously i used ISC DHCP but i have switched to dnsmasq since about a year ago. And i think this neighbor entry is still from the time i used ISC DHCP.

am i doing something wrong or missing something obvious?

I tested on 25.7.10 and it adds and deletes the neighbor entry from the configuration.

It likely does not remove the neighbor from the ARP table until a reboot. Static ARP in ISC DHCP may change that if you apply there but that's for historic reasons.  There are upcoming changes related to these topics in 26.1.

So in case I haven't answered your question or bug can you be more precise?

Thanks,
Franco

Not sure how precise i can be tbh.

i am running 25.7.10 currently. I have rebooted the router several times since creating this post.
I did notice something , that the entry from neighbors was back in the arp table after flushing it (which is probably correct since i couldn't remove it)

What i do is:

I go to Interfaces > Neighbors. Select the entry i want to remove (check-marked) > click delete button > click yes to confirm > get the message near Apply "after changing settings, please remember to apply them" > so i click Apply.
The entry still remains in the Neighbors list.
I then rebooted the router (For good measure). After reboot, the static entry in Neighbors is still there (as well as in the Diagnostics > Arp Table).

This situation is not the end of the world of course. i can simply ignore the reserved IP address for now. But it is odd.

If you're not using static ARP and the neighbor is found via ARP it's not going anywhere.

Good Morning:  I'm having a similar and possibly related problem.  Just updated to 25.7.10.  Saw an indication of one unexpected error during the update, but then got an indication that the update completed successfully.  I had set my devices up with static IP addresses in the prior version.  The interface seems to have changed substantially, but in the 25.7.10 under Interfaces\LAN the IPv4 config type is set to "Static IPv4."

My devices now seem to be listed now as "neighbors" and appear to be working.  But I believe there was a name field or similar before, where now there's only a description.  The devices are all listed as dhcpd-lan, and, for exmaple, my Ecobee thermostat description now says "Living Room" (I think the name field Id'd it before as a Thermostat).  This leads to several questions:

1.  Am I still running static IPs as before?
2.  If not, do I have to reset each device as static, and where/how do I do that?
3:  The Neighbors page doesn't seem to allow me to change the description to be more, well, descriptive (if we're ditching the name field), and I thus far can't find a way to do that.
4.
4.  It's now unclear how I distinguish between static and DHCP addresses, and how I swap a DHCP entry to a static address -- which, once I looked around the interface, seemed relatively straightforward in the prior version.  I could see everything, set static addresses, and then look at something like the neighbors list to

Seems likely I'm just going something wrong.  Looked for a log entry after the reported error during the update and didn't find a thing.  Currently stumped.

Things seem to be working fine thus far, so this seems relatively minor.  But it would help to know if I'm just struggling with the new interface or if there's an issue.  If the latter, happy to report whatever is useful -- but somebody will have to tell me what to look for in info that would help.

Thanks much for any help.

Sorry -- one additional note:  I can see the devices under Interfaces\Diagnotics\ARP Table . . . but they don't seem to be editable there either.
