Noob question about setup and internet speed

Hello all

Im new to the form and opnsense

I'm currently using an old dell optiplex 4070 with an i5 6600, 16gb ddr4 ram, 2x 256gb nvme and a quad 2.5g nic.
As of yesterday iv upgraded my isp speed to 2.5g down and up with idnet (uk isp) but speed tests show 1g down and up!

Is it hardware at fault or something else? Both lan and wan ports are set to autoselect in opnsense no vpn's enabled
