DEC 677 IPS, VPN, IDPS & Webproxy

Good day all, I'm new here and with OPNsense so thank you for your patience.

After doing some basic testing on a VWMare virtual machine with OPNsense, I'm now looking to purchase a hardware appliance. Currently I'm looking at a DEC677 and on the product page there is a convenient "comparison" section, comparing the DEC677 with the DEC697. In the section "typical applications", it doesn't list IDPS & Webproxy for the DEC677. Does this mean that IPS and Webproxy cannot be enabled on the DEC677? Or just that the appliance might not offer enough performance to run it smoothly?

Follow-up question is: are there hardware-locked featured that are only available on some hardware appliances and not on others? I was able to enable IPS on my virtual appliance in VMWare, so I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be available on some hardware models (except performance).

There are no hardware locked features in OPNsense. The comparison charts try to show typical applications abd expected performance.
