Lost access to WebUI and internet after changing IPv6 configuration on interface

Hello everyone,

I am quite new to OPNsense and I hope you can help me. I am still learning, so unfortunately I don't know exactly which additional information (logs, configs etc.) would be most useful for you – please let me know and I will provide them.

My setup:
  • DrayTek Vigor Modem → OPNsense → Netgear managed switch → Proxmox server & WLAN access point
  • The affected interface is wlan_privat.

What happened:
  • Everything was working fine.
    • I could access the OPNsense WebUI via router.mydomain.org and 192.168.10.1
    • Internet was working over WLAN
  • I changed the IPv6 Configuration Type on the interface wlan_privat from "Track Interface" to "None"
  • Immediately after that change:
    • I lost access to the WebUI via both hostname and 192.168.10.1 (over WLAN)
    • I also lost internet connectivity over WLAN
  • When I unplug the cable from OPNsense to the switch and directly connect my laptop to the LAN port of OPNsense, I can access the WebUI on 192.168.10.1 and the internet works
  • I already reverted the setting back from "None" to "Track Interface", but the problem remains:
    • Still no access to the WebUI via WLAN
    • Still no internet over WLAN

Could someone please help me understand what went wrong and how I can fix this?

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi,

could you please elaborate more on your setup?

What network segments do you have (VLANs and/or WIFI SSIDs) and where do they occur in your setup? Is your modem just a bridge to your ISP or is it actually doing the PPPoe (or whatever it is you're having)?
