What happened to opnsense
1. No IPV4 gateway in DNS settings ... settings>general.. my ISP doesnt use , nor do I use, IPV6
Security nightmare
2. Only a IPV6 gateway shows up in dashboard, what happened to the IPV4

My IPS is no longer working
The dashboard traffic streams glitch

I have to wait for an IP
Then I can select a IPV4 gateway under settings>general
then go to interface and select IPV6 none

No gateway shows up in dashboard until DHCP4 serves me an IP
It says no gateway configured

Yes I tried setting an IPV4 gateway with same results but shows in dashboard
IPS doesnt work

What did they do to opnsense?

I am going to have to go back to an earlier version

Hello, I'm not sure about your OPNsense setup but you can go to [System: Gateways: Configuration] to add/edit GWs then edit the Dashboard widget and add additional gateways:

You cannot view this attachment.

I run a Transparent Filtering Bridge and has no DHCP servers active as expected, so I really don't need it but I've just added IP4 GW for monitor/informational purposes whether it is up or down.

Regards
OPNSense on Bhyve VM set with 2CPU, 4GB-RAM, 120GB-ZFS, Transparent Filtering Bridge(TFB).
Intel i5-2390T with 32GB-RAM and Intel I350-T4(2-Ports Passthrough for OPNsense + VirtIO).
System running Jails, MEDIA/SMB/NFS/SSH servers etc.., ZFS-Mirrors for boot and storage.

Yes thanks for trying.
Yes I did some of that, but I should not have to. IPV4 gateway was default on earlier versions.
Making it much harder on newbs, and i STILL DONT HAVE SURICATA WORKING.
I am not sure what the firewall is filtering either, there are eronious ips getting passed.
The dashboard traffic flashes crazy. If it even comes up.
I cant be the only one who has seen this.
IPV4 should be in there as a default as usual.
Thanks again.

Remember... community edition went from 25.1 to 25.7
I have everything working, I think
Have to create a IPV4 gateway under system gateways, not difficult
When you click the plus to add a gateway it should come up IPV4

I set
priority: 1
name: vr0
address family should be: IPV4
I gave a description of wan_IPV4
and save

It will show up now in your system>settings>general to set the dns gateway
when you add in your preferred dns servers, can be 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4, 1.1.1.1, 9.9.9.9
and then assign a gateway in the drop down box next to it

Yes I have IPS working as normal

Note my IP address no longer shows up in the dashboard
also it does show my upstream DHCP server IP address of the ISP
Dashboard is working ok now

The added step of creating a gateway will have to be explained to newbs
