UDP Proxy
« on: February 04, 2017, 01:44:08 pm »
Hi,

looking for a solution to proxy UDP Broadcasts (on specific Ports) from one network to the other.

Atm it is Sonos which is in one network and the Controller, Plex which is in the other. I got this working but

a) firewalls are getting "hammered" with this
b) perhaps the next time it doesn't work and I'm (we are) stuck.

I found some code for UPD Proxies...

http://www.vttoth.com/CMS/technical-notes/63-an-ip-tunnelling-problem-a-case-study
https://www.waldonell.com/thoughts/articles/playing-multiplayer-starcraft-on-lan-with-multiple-subnets/

but feel not comfortable atm to compile this on my own.

Any help or ideas on how to implement this is OPNsense?

Don

As long as you don't post anything about which port and application protocol is used, we don't know what exactly you want to be implemented. If it is MDNS (UDP 5353), there are already packages available.
