I have opnsense on a optiplex 3070 with 16gig ram and all link at 1 giga full duplex and speed suck !...100mb on lan with iperf3 and 500mb on wan on a link of 1.5g i presume i dont use the good hardware ... i want à good hardware with 2.5g link can do ids/ips outbound dns, transparent proxy, i want  1giga lan speed and 1.5giga wan  and no drop speed after x time... i dont really check the cheapest price i just want its work good , what type of mini pc i need ? Any suggestion ? Now i use 9gig ram i need one with more of that, and i have 5 vlan and wireguard tunnel

I have see this hardware from opnsense the only problem in my head with that is if now im using 9 gig of ram and i buy a device with 8 gig of ram i will be in 100% ram used and its not good .. can i add ram to this device? or if i open it i will broke warrenty ?

How much of your memory is ARC cache? That does not really count.

Your current size and memory usage is why I did not recommend the 4G model  ;) Unless you also add huge block lists and IDS 8G will probably do fine for a long time.

Off topic, but I'd like to see OPNsense offer these devices with more RAM, at the current prices of DDR3 and DDR4, it just makes sense. Even DDR5 isn't horribly expensive, especially if it can be an option at the time of purchases.

Are those smaller devices soldered ram or socket (SODIMM?)? The larger rack mount look they all have a single socket and desktop sized modules.
