VLAN Issue?
«

I picked up this guy to replace my Zimaboard that has run opnsense for the last 2 years. It was a great 2 years but needed a bit more power to run ZenArmor.
So I have the device installed and running opnsense and instead of restoring from backup, I decided to manually reconfigure it with all that I've learned in 2 years of opnsense.
However, when creating my cameras VLAN (tagged on Aruba InstantOn switch), I'm having an issue.
When I go to Interfaces->Other Types->VLAN and select "Add" there is nothing in the Parent interface dropdown. The help says it will only show compatible interfaces. Does anyone know why this device wouldn't have compatible interfaces?

I'm an opnsense newbie so this might be stupid for me to ask so sorry if so...
Just wanted to check you have configured and enabled and saved settings for your lan and wan interfaces?
I don't think they will show up to be assigned as the parent in the vlan config until enabled.
I think the help text is referring to interfaces in opnsense that are compatible with vlan - it's not about the minipc hardware

The i226-V is compatible.
As mentioned by @Jata go to your interface assignments and check if the interfaces are assigned "created" in the OPNsense.

Check your overview for all your interfaces. "Interfaces-Overview". Your 10Gbe NICs should work with no problems with included drivers, same thing with the I226 NICs.
ix0 and ix1 are your 10G NICs and igc1 and igc2 are your 2.5G NICs. Vlans go on the hardware interface, do not assign the physical interface in the assignments menu and they will show up in the "Interfaces-Other Types-VLAN" for VLAN assignment. If you want to LAG any of interface the VLANS go on the LAG interface not the physical interfaces.
edit:
Assigning the interface shouldn't remove it from the vlan menu, but it used to. There in no need to assign the parent (physical) interface unless your using some form of Intrusion Detection or Prevention.
edit 2:
The SFP+ ports are basically a "Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X520-DA2" under a different form factor. A pretty old and well-established card with drivers built to most OSs these days. I have 1 in Windows, 1 in Ubuntu, and 1 in OPNsense. Never have I run across a problem with these NICs.

I'm not following what to do here. Attaching some more screenshots to help people understand my predicament.
I'm actively using the firewall - so i'm using regular ethernet (not the sfp+ ports) and they are assigned to WAN and LAN.
Still can't find a way to add a VLAN
Well I doxed myself in the images so I removed them.
1. On the Interfaces->Overview screen I have nothing.
2. On Assignments, I have LAN and WAN assigned to the respective regular ethernet port (not using SFP at the moment)
3. Still can't see any parent devices in VLAN screen

No idea what I did but kept messing with settings and all the sudden it appeared. So this is no longer an issue but I can't provide how I fixed it :/

You can compare configs via the GUI to see what you changed
