Non-NAT, routed subnet, ADSL connection
« on: January 16, 2017, 03:51:15 pm »
Can OPNsense handle an ADSL connection with an allocated subnet rather than a single IP?

One side of the OPNsense would be a PPPoE connection to a modem, the other would be the routable subnet, with the OPNSense occupying one of the IP addresses from that subnet.

Please only respond if you have actual experience of this scenario.

Yes, I have an IPv4 /29 and a /56 IPv6 from my ISP picked up through PPPoE and DHCPv6 respectively. OPNsense gets assigned the lowest IP in the range and one other IP is assigned to a 1:1 NAT for an internal host.
