(? ipv6 patch related only) opnsense 24.7.2 update = fails to boot

I had 24.7.1 running (Intel N100, proxmox) with the IPv6 patches
I ran `opnsense revert` and then the update in the UI + reboot

Upon reboot ->

Fortunately I have backups/snapshot so can revert to the previous config

You have a missing

load zfs
boot

will probably boot but reverting to a working snapshot and redoing the upgrade is easier probably.

For updates, I always use the console option 12. Never had any of the weird corner case issues with that way.

Just to confirm, I did restore from snapshot *prior to my ipv6 patching*.
I reapplied 24.7.2 which worked fine.

So I suspect an unfortunate sequence in reverting the update whilst 24.7.2 was available, and then doing the update caused this

Justing noting - I don't think reverting these patches is needed, they will be reverted during the upgrade anyway.

This "gave me pause for thought" too. I decided to try just go ahead with the 24.7.2 update (without trying to revert patches), assuming that the package(s) that had been patched would be replaced anyway. It seemed to work fine that way.

I think reverting whilst an update was 'known' was a mistake that caused a bad sequence  (there was no failure reported).

Glad it's working for others, and the above reminds me I like using proxmox :-)
