I have 3 x opnsense fire walls running on Asus Z370-i motherboards with 1Gig Dell Intel PRO/1000 VT Quad Port Gigabit Ethernet Cards installed in the PCIE slots.

Everything runs without issues or errors.

My ISP in the next couple of months is upgrading to a 3Gig connection so i have been looking at upgrade options for the network card to 10GB.

The issue is the cards I have tested all produce Interface Errors between the Opnsense fire wall and the 10GB MikroTik switch using either ethernet or SFP+ connectors

These are the cards I have tested.

Intel X550-T2 Dual Port 10Gb ethernet
Intel X540-T2 Dual Port 10Gb ethernet
Intel X520-DA2 Dual port 10GB SFP+

Do i have to make changes to system setting to opnesense or load software for the cards ?

Double check you're running the latest firmware for the NIC's and update them to latest if not.

Disable "Pause Frames" on both switch and OPNsense (use search for the correct tunables).
