Can you use an emulated E100 adapter just for testing?
Cheers,

One step ahead of you Franco
I tested E1000 as well - same results. The I researched more about using the TAP interface as a mirror port under Proxmox - based on the article found here:
https://vext.info/2018/09/03/cheat-sheet-port-mirroring-ids-data-into-a-proxmox-vm.html
I experimented with the TAP device, which seemed to function under OPNSense, but still couldn't get the discovery to work . . . I also don't think using a physical switch mirro port would help as the issue appears to be more from the BSD side of things - like I said, I installed a fresh debian 12 instance and installed latest NTopNG under Proxmox and it works fine (using virtio) - very odd

Hey, just wanted to report that I have the same issue on Pfsense 2.7.2 (hyper-v vm)
It was working fine with pfsense 2.7.0 though.
I have two Pfsense instances at different locations and the same thing happened to both of them, which are clean installs from just a few months back.
