console resolution and live-status

Would there be a decent option to boot opnsense running on  (supermicro x11 tp8f)( ASPEED AST2500 ) at a higher resolution than 800x600/1024x768?

and (semi unrelated, but also relevant)
are there any textual / console tools which provide sort-of 'at-a-glance' status health/status for opnsense? thinking like a somewhat tuned/tweaked version of btop .... or... it'd be neat if one could display the /ui/diagnostics/traffic graphs along with some of the other relevant metrics of a running firewall(pair) ... but... gotta start somewhere ;)
