OPNsense Hostname and HA
«

Hello all,
I have a 2 node firewall cluster running but how does the FQDN of the firewall work with HA? My nodes are OPNsense1 and OPNsense2. Ideally I would like to setup OPNsense.fqdn and have it point to the Virtual IP of the LAN interface. How can I accomplish this?
Thanks,
Steve

This is just related to DNS and all clients need to ask this DNS server if it's not a public name.
For management of the FW itself I'd suggest to always use Opnsense1, only for redundant services like VPN I'd use the FQDN pointing to HA IP

Thanks...will continue to treat as separate when it comes to managing them via GUI. Yes VPN is set to be contingent on WAN VIP.
